I DID IT! YAY!!!
Last night, I finished the 3rd draft of “Bob and Snowman Try Very Hard to Save the World”! I may change the name because of that one movie that came out that I haven’t seen that had a similar title, but STILL!!
And I cried. I did.
I cried because I think the ending is beautiful, and I absolutely ADORE these characters—I love them so much—and because this year has been horrible, and the last week and half has been horrible, and I’m super exhausted, and also—it’s been a year since the last time I had a horrific flashback and tried to end my life and yet here I am; I’m here, finishing the 3rd draft of another book. And that means everything to me. I really didn’t think I’d make it this far.
But I’m so glad I did. Because I’m learning that true, genuine healing IS POSSIBLE, it really is; and life can start again.
And next year, this book, along with my book “Whispers of Monsters”, will sit on the shelf behind me in that picture with my other brain babies (that’s why they’ve got bows on them; they’re my brain babies).

And I just can’t wait to make all the right people mad with this book. It’s straight from my broken-and-healing-and-angry heart, this one… well, like all of them. Like any beautiful work of art.
And I’m telling you—LET YOUR ART HEAL YOU.
IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE PERFECT! IT NEEDS TO BE HEALING.
Let it be messy. That’s what revisions are for! This 3rd draft… I’ve read parts of it to people, but it still needs so much work. It initially was getting told from just Bob (Nothe) and Snowman (Asael), but then! This gorgeous, terrifying character let me know they had WAY more to say than I thought, and now part of the story is told through their eyes, too. And I KNOW I don’t have all of their chapters down yet…
But it has been SO HEALING to write, just as “Whispers of Monsters” has been (which I’m now bouncing back to), and just as “What Actually Happened to Isaac Moore” was, and “Princess Song and the River”, and of course, the one that started it all, “The Very Real World of Emily Adams.”
Find your art. Art allows our souls to speak. Let your soul speak. Let it heal. Because healing is possible.
